Catanduanes Rep. Cesar Sarmiento said that a bill seeking to set a national day of remembrance for road crash victims has been approved on second reading at the House of Representatives.
Catanduanes has been one of the provinces in the country that scored a huge chunk budget for infrastructure projects, thanks to the efforts of Rep. Cesar Sarmiento.
After the committee approval of the bill aiming to declare Catanduanes as the "Abaca Capital of the Philippines," a House panel will now seek for funding for the proposed Abaca Research and Development Center in the province.
Catanduanes Rep. Cesar Sarmiento spearheaded the congressional probe on the Xiamen incident at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) last month.
