Albay Governor Edcel “Grex” Lagman marked his 51st birthday with an intimate celebration together with his children, his family and some of his office staff.
Lagman held his celebration on July 25, a day after his birthday on July 24.
“[I] belatedly celebrated my 51st birthday with my beautiful wife Ana Lea Celestino Lagman (who just gave birth last July 19) together with my seven kids Josh Lagman, Thomas Jacob Lagman, EJ Lagman, Diego Lagman, Lexi Lagman, Samantha Lagman and our newest angel 6-day old Emillie Greanna Lagman,” said the governor.
“So happy, too, that my three granddaughters Tali, Kailey and baby Lily (grandson Nate couldn’t make it) were also in tow together with my daughters-in-law Kaye Fadera-Lagman and Andrea Denise Sevilla-Lagman. Happy that my sisters-in-law Arianne Bagasala and Monalisa Celestino (who are thankfully taking good care of their youngest sibling who just gave birth) were also present together with their kids Popeh and Renren, respectively,” he added.
Governor’s Office staff Jhay Antiola and MamiJef Martinez and yaya Gail Abby also attended Lagman’s birthday celebration.
“My birthday was actually on the 24th of July. But because i attended the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of the President, His Excellency Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., at 4pm at the House of Representatives also on July 24 pursuant to our Constitution mandating its holding every 3rd Monday of July—-plus the fact that i had to rush to another important meeting thereafter—-no birthday celebration was in the cards for me that day,” he said.
Although belatedly celebrated, Lagman said that birthdays are always worth celebrating.
“What is important is the love and support that family brings to the celebrator. It was a simple yet very meaningful celebration. The people i was with last night all served to reinforce my belief that life will be always be worth living especially when it’s for the ones we love and care for. It will just be a big bonus if they also love us back,” he said.
“To all those who called to greet me a “happy birthday” as well as those who did so via text message and other social media messaging platforms, dakulaong salamat sa saindo gatos! Thanks so much to all of you and for your birthday well-wishes,” added the governor.
