Baldo orders police to beef up monitoring amid rising theft cases


Camalig Mayor Caloy Baldo has ordred the local police to ramp up visibility and monitoring amid the rising theft incidents in the town.

Baldo issued a memorandum ordering the police to monitor public areas such as commercial business district and schools.

“In response to the alarming theft incidents in the town, Camalig Local Chief Executive, Hon. Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo, Jr. issued a memorandum today, directing the Camalig Municipal Police Station (MPS) to mobilize its units and render intensive police presence/monitoring in the barangays, particularly at the commercial business district and in schools,” Baldo’s office said.

Meanwhile, tanods were also directed to assist police in keeping Camalig maintain its peace and security.

“All barangay tanods were likewise urged to augment the police force through the conduct of strict monitoring in critical areas to maximize the local government’s intervention which leans toward the promotion of 24/7 peace and order, and public safety in the community,” Baldo’s office said.

“In the 2nd quarter of 2023, a total of 2 theft cases were officially recorded by Camalig MPS, apart from a handful of circulating theft incidents that were announced by residents on social media,” it added.
