Lagman eyes wellness clinic for Capitol employees

POLITIKO - The bible of Philippine Politics.
Albay Governor Edcel “Grex” Lagman is pushing for the establishment of a wellness clinic for the employees of the Capitol to promote a healthy workplace.
According to provincial government, the wellness clinic primarily aims to improve the physical and mental health of entire Capitol workforce.
It also eyes to provide free diagnostic procedures, build an on-site fitness center, offer yoga sessions and counseling for personalized nutrition, create wellness challenges, serve office health assessments from time to time, and many more vital services.
“Albay will also launch the first ‘biggest loser’ for its employees which is patterned after a popular TV show where participants are competing to lose weight through supervised physical fitness activities,” said the provincial government.
Meanwhile, Provincial Administrator Sheina Marie Onrubia Dela Cruz said that the Province, under the leadership of Gov. Lagman, understands the evolving needs of the employees so it can create a healthy environment tailored for their personal and professional growth.
Dela Cruz emphasized that improving the employees’ health and well-being and empowering them with health education and lifestyle skills will enable them to achieve their best possible health.
It also positively affects their morale and job satisfaction, which optimize their performance and productivity and reduce absenteeism and health-related costs.
“Alagaan natin ang mga tao. Alagaan natin ang kalusugan nila dahil health is the reason kung bakit hindi nagiging effective sa trabaho ang ating mga empleyado. And to promote health among Albayanos, kailangan rin ang malusog na pangangatawan lalo na ng ating mga frontliners because we cannot give what we don’t have,” she said.
