Gov. Lagman fetes Albayano ‘mathletes’
Governor Edcel “Grex” Lagman met with the Albayano medalists in the recently International Math Competition in Pataya, Thailand.
Lagman said that he spend a merienda with them, which was hosted by his father Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman.
“Merienda cena hosted by papa for all the medalists, head coaches and teachers in the recently concluded International Math Competition in Pataya, Thailand,” he said.
“So happy for our Albayano “mathletes” who did so much better than their ASEAN and Middle East counterparts. Surprisingly, powerhouse Singapore didn’t place,” he said.
“This is just to show how competitive the competition was and how our Albayano contestants rose to the occasion,” he continued.
The merienda was followed by a dinner the lawmaker also hosted for his UP Law ‘66 classmates.
“Happy to see as well papa’s former law partner uncle Ruben Torres. He was Pres. Cory Aquino’s Labor Secretary, Pres. FVR’s Executive Secretary and was also a member of the HoR. Happy to also see how papa’s fellow Alphan, Atty. Ed Tarriela, wasn’t the worse for wear one bit at 81. Met him in ‘98 and he still looks spright. Amazing baby boomers,” said the governor.
