Fake news pala! Tinambac Councilor Jonas Soltes debunks claims of escaped prisoners

POLITIKO - The bible of Philippine Politics.
Tinambac Councilor Jonas Soltes assured residents of his town that there is no truth to claims that five inmates have escaped and are targeting women by knocking on their doors.
In a Facebook post, Soltes said the Philippine National Police and barangay officials themselves said this is simply not true.
He called on the public to refrain from posting unverified information that could cause alarm.
Those who had already posted this false information should also take it down, he said.
People must use social media responsibly in order not to sow chaos, he added.
If there is really something to be concerned about, the local government and the police would be the first to tell them, he said.
Don’t fall for fake news!
