Lagman fetes ‘collaborative’ governance

Albay Governor Edcel Grex Lagman has sent a medical team to augment the health caravan launched by the Ako Bicol Partylist in Manito as he touted the “collaborative governance” among government agencies.

“Upon my request, our Provincial Health Office (PHO) through its OIC Dr. Estela Bibares Zenit sent a complete medical-dental team and a fully-equipped dental bus to augment AKO BICOL Partylist’s “Tarabangan Caravan,” said the governor.

Lagman noted that this is what a “collaborative governance” is all about among government agencies and stakeholders.

“This is what COLLABORATIVE GOVERNANCE is all about. It is the art and science of looking for common advocacies with both government and/or state actors like elective officials (both in the national and local levels) as well as partnering with the private sector (i.e. corporations who have a solid track record in their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts and/or private hospitals who regularly extend help to medical-dental missions),” said Lagman..

“Government funds WILL NEVER BE ENOUGH. But if we engage in collaborative partnerships, we can pool our resources together to serve common ends in the most effective and efficient way possible,” he added.

He also thanked the doctors and other health workers who rendered their services to those Albayanos in need.

“Thank you, doctors of Tanchuling Hospital! Thank you, Ronel Lotino of Evegate for the masseuses. Thank you sa gabos na mga doctors kan Albay Provincial Health Office,” he said.

“To Mayor Rebecca Chen and Councilors of Manito, dios mabalos man tabi for having us,” Lagman added.
