Palawan SP urges LGUs to install sewerage management plan

The Palawan Sangguniang Panlalawigan has passed a resolution urging local government units in the province to have a sustainable sewerage and septage management plan.

The SP approved Proposed Resolution No. 859-23, titled: A resolution enjoining all Local Government Units under the territorial jurisdiction of the Provincial Government of Palawan to review and/or develop their respective Sustainable Sewerage and Septage Management Plan to address the threat to Palawan water resources from huge volumes of untreated wastewater from households, run-offs, business establishments, effluents and agricultural waste.

The said resolution was authored by Board Member Roseller S. Pineda.

According to Pineda, the proposal aims top prevent issues and problems that may arise from the lack of a proper sewerage plan.

“This is in relation sa pagsasagawa ng mga STP in every municipality na mapag-aralan at isama na sa pagpaplano para hindi tayo laging naghahabol sa mga problema when it comes to the water sanitation na nangyayari sa kasalukuyan sa bayan ng El Nido,” said Pineda.

“This resolution Mr. Chair, ay makatutulong na masiguradong malinis ang bawat munisipyo sapagkat hindi maiiwasan ang pagdami ng tao at ang pagkaroon ng development.”
