Albay gov’t to host Health Summit this year

The Provincial Government of Albay together with the Department of Health and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation will host a health summit this year.
Governor Edcel Grex Lagman said that the health summit will assist in combating “health ignorance” and encourage the right kinds of health-seeking behavior.
Following the courtesy visit of PhilHealth Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Atty. Eli Dino D. Santos and other health care officers, Lagman assured that all province-owned hospitals would be fully operational to bring effective and efficient public healthcare delivery.
Lagman will also take advantage of the healthcare packages geared toward implementing the Universal Healthcare Law.
“Provision of quality health services is one of the 5-point agenda of Gov. Lagman, which mainly aims to boost the health sector in the Province of Alba…” the Albay Capitol said.
Lagman aims to strengthen the health sector by strengthening the healthcare system, increasing local government investments in health, and improving healthcare access, quality, and efficiency by mobilizing partnerships with the private sector.
