Albay Sanggunian lauds Legazpi young farmers for winning TAYO award

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Albay (SPA) has approved a resolution commending a young farmers group for being recognized as one of top organizations in the country.

The SP lauded Young Farmers Organization from Legazpi City, Albay, for winning as one of the ten (10) Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO20) in the Philippines for 2022.

“After 67 validation interview qualifiers and 41 expert screening qualifiers, a week-long program of media rounds, institutional visits, capacity-building activities, and other sponsored tasks, the Young Farmers Organization from Albay earned a spot by involving farming technology and introducing Edible Landscaping, a new approach to organic farming in the province,” said the Albay PIO.

Aside from being part of the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations, Albay Young Farmers Organizations, Inc., aslonbagged three awards during the TAYO20 Awards.

The bagged the Adhika Fellowship Grant Award, San Miguel Corporation’s Better World Award, and 1st Runner Up in the TAYO Video Sprint.

“Four hundred ninety-one hopeful organizations submitted their project entries under these five categories: culture, arts, and heritage; education and technology; environment, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation; health, well-being, and human development; and livelihood and entrepreneurship,” said the PIO.

Board Member Jesus M. Go authored the said resolution of commendation.

The 20th Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO) Award was held at the Far Eastern University Auditorium on March 11.
