Former VP Leni Robredo mourns death of her family’s longtime driver

Former Vice President Leni Robreod and her daughters are in grief over the passing of their longtime family driver Raul Bagood.

Bagood passed away after suffering a stroke.

Robredo called for prayers for Bagood’s soul.

In a Facebook post, Robredo shared that Bagood was rushed to the hospital after driving her to an event. His condition stabilized in the hospital around midnight, but it worsened around 3 am. He passed away after a few minutes.

She said Bagood has been with the family since her husband Jesse and her three daughters moved to Manila in 2010.

He usually drive for Tricia and Jillian since Aika can drive. When Jillian left to study in the US, he drove exclusively for Tricia.

Now that Tricia is also in the US, Bagood is just on standby if the family has errands.

Robredo said Bagood is like family to them, and they are all in grief over his passing, especially Tricia who was closes to him.

Kasama ko siya maghapon kahapon. Sinundo niya ako sa bus terminal, kasama ko sa opisina, at hinatid ako sa event sa Pasig late afternoon. While the event was ongoing, lumapit sa akin staff telling me Raul wasnt feeling well. Buti nalang, andun si Doc Keisha Mangalili. Sinamahan niya si Raul sa Medical City and informed us na it was a stroke. Sumunod kami sa hospital and we left after midnight when he was stable na.

At 3am, I got a message informing me that he turned for the worst and he was already being revived. A few minutes after, he expired

Raul is our only family driver. He has been with us since Jesse and the girls transferred to Manila in 2010. Siya yung driver ni Tricia and Jillian (because Aika drives). Nung pumunta na si Jill sa US para mag aral, halos exclusive na siya ki Tricia. And now that Tricia is in the US, nag aabang nalang siya if we have errands.

Kahapon was one of the rare times na nagpa drive ako kasi coding yung car ko and may event ako sa labas ng office.

Raul is family to us already and we are in grief, lalo na si Tricia kasi siya talaga yung pinaka naalagaan ni Raul,” Robredo posted.
