Albay Govenor Edcel “Grex” Lagman announced that a new hospital will commence operations by July to serve the residents of island municipality of Rapu-Rapu.

“In our quest for development and progress, no one should be left behind. I don’t really believe in affirmative action,” said the governor.

“What we need is the approximation of the equal distribution of public goods and services especially in public health care,” he added.

“So excited for the start of Batan Hosptal’s operations in July or in August that will serve the public health needs of our beloved residents of Albay’s only island municipality —- Rapu-Rapu,” he continued.

According to Lagman, the water source will be secured by Mayor Dick Galicia and his fellow public servants in LGU-Rapu Rapu.

“The water systems for said hospital will be undertaken by the Albay Peo through Provincial Engineer Dante Baclao,” he said.

“Dr. Estela Bibares Zenit of the Albay Provincial Health Office will ensure that this hospital will be properly staffed with doctors, nurses and other health professionals. I COMMIT TO INVEST IN HUMAN INFRASTRUCTURE. This is the only way to go for efficient and effective public health care delivery,” he continued.
