Pola is one of the towns hardest hit by the oil spill from the February 28 sinking of a tanker, and Mayor Jennifer Mindanao Cruz lamented that one of the affected areas is a popular tourist destination.

In a Facebook post, Cruz said a lot of oil was spotted in front of Log House.

It is a popular destination of actors who visit Pola.

It is also known for its ATVs and its beautiful, shallow beach.

People love it because they could walk far from the shore and the water would still not be deep.

This means it’s a safe beach for children during summer.

Unfortunately, the oil spill may spoil summer plans.
