Odiongan Vice Mayor Diven Fos Dimaala touts the benefits of okra

Okra may not be everyone’s favorite gulay, but it is packed full of nutrients and brings a lot of health benefits.

This was according to Odiongan Vice Mayor Diven Fos Dimaala, who underscored the importance of eating okra.

In a Facebook post, Dimaala said okra is a superfood that could control diabetes because it delays the breakdown of sugar in the body so that people would not get hungry easily.

This, in turn, brings down sugar levels, he said.

People can also soak okra in their drinking water to enjoy its benefits, he said.

Moreover, okra can lower bad cholesterol and provide a lot of fiber, vitamins, and anti-oxidants.

It may also fight several diseases, he further said.
