Rep. Panaligan meets with Israeli envoy
Oriental Mindoro Rep. Arnan Panaligan had an opportunity to meet with Israel Ambassador Ilan Fluss when the latter visited the lower House.
Panaligan said that they discussed agriculture and cooperation between the Philippines and Israel.
“Our two countries have forged a close partnership and collaboration. I told Ambassador Fluss that we can learn from Israel how they were able to make their agriculture provide for the food requirements of their people,” said Panaligan.
“We also talked about the cooperation between the Philippines and Israel on defense and security matters,” he added.
The lawmaker also noted that the Philippines has recently acquired air defense missiles, patrol boats, artillery and tanks from Israeli defense manufacturing companies.
“In the case of the naval vessels, the Israeli government agreed to transfer technology to the Philippines,” he said.
“The people to people relations between our countries are also strong. Overseas Filipino workers in Israel are well treated and highly regarded by their Israeli employers,” added Panaligan.
