Mayor Fabic compiling statements, resolutions vs mining operations in Romblon

Odiongan Mayor Trina Firmalo-Fabic said that she is compiling resolutions and statements against metallic mining in Romblon, particularly in Sibuyan Island.

The mayor said the more statements, ther better chance of getting heard.

“Currently compiling resolutions and statements against metallic mining in Romblon province, particularly Sibuyan Island, from different sanggunians, organizations, associations, and groups,” said Firmalo-Fabic.

“Kung nakapag issue ng statement o resolution ang inyong grupo, pwede po bang pa send? Para maipon po natin. Mas maraming statements mas magiging malakas ang boses natin,” she said.

Last week, residents from Sibuyan Island expressed their opposition against the alleged illegal mining operations of Altai Mining Company as they held a rally and demanded for the immediate halt of the alleged mining operations.

Meanwhile, San Fernando Mayor Nanette Tansingco earlier assured that the matter is being taken care of and legal actions are being done.
