Arts festival time! Masbate Rep. Ara Kho calls for support for the province’s artists
It’s time to show love for Masbate’s artists!
Masbate Rep. Ara Kho called on her constituents to support local talent who will showcase their stuff at the 3rd Obra Masbateño Arts Festival that will be held from February 17 to 25.
In a Facebook post, Kho said the provincial government of Masbate will stage the festival through the Masbate Provincial Tourism Culture and Arts Office in partnership with the Department of Tourism Regional Office V and National Commission for Culture and the Arts.
The theme of this year’s event is “Ani ng Sining, Bunga ng Galing.” It aims to immerse Filipinos in diverse cultural expressions and celebrate the bountiful harvest from the Filipino imagination, she said.
Masbate artists have a lot to offer!
“𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓 𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐍̃𝐎 𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐒!
In line with celebration of National Arts Month this February, the provincial government of Masbate thru the Masbate Provincial Tourism Culture and Arts Office in partnership with the Department of Tourism Regional Office V and National Commission for Culture and the Arts will once again stage this year’s 𝟑𝐑𝐃 𝐎𝐁𝐑𝐀 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐍̃𝐎 𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐒 𝐅𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐀𝐋 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 happening this February 17-25, 2023.
As we banner this year’s theme “𝐀𝐍𝐈 𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆, 𝐁𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐀 𝐍𝐆 𝐆𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆” that aims to immerse Filipinos in diverse cultural expressions and celebrate the bountiful harvest from the Filipino imagination, the theme “𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠” refers to excellence in the arts as both a source of bounty despite challenging times, and a product of the passion of Filipino artists and cultural workers. In celebrating National Arts Month in 2023, “𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠” alludes to artistic excellence as well as underscoring the capacity of the arts to heal, rebuild, and restore in a post-pandemic setting.
Promulgated by then President Corazon Aquino in 1991, Presidential Proclamation No. 683 declared February of every year as National Arts Month to celebrate the artistic excellence and pay tribute to the uniqueness and diversity of the Filipino heritage and culture.
Get involved, be inspired and witness the grandest celebration of National Arts Month in the province as different art sectors will showcase their arts and crafts in the 9-day festivity such as Visual Arts, Literary, Fashion and Architecture and Allied Arts Exhibition, Musical and Cultural Performances, Workshops, local Food Demonstration, Trade Fair and many more!
