Palawan gov’t provides financial aid to 29 rebel returnees in 2022
The Palawan Capitol reported that a total of 29 rebels who decided to return to the fold of law have been given financial assistance by the provincial government in 2022.
The assistant was given through the Local Social Integration Program for Former Rebels of the Provincial Social Welfare & Development Office (PSWDO).
“Ang nabanggit na 29 former rebels ay mula sa mga bayan ng Bataraza, Brooke’s Point, Dumaran, Rizal, Roxas, San Vicente at Taytay kung saan 27 sa mga ito ay mga lalaki habang ang 2 ay mga babae,” the Palawan PIO said.
Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Abigail D. Ablaña said that the rebel returnees received P25,000 each as livelihood assistance from the provincial government.
“Aniya, sa pamamagitan ng programang ito na maigting na isinusulong ni Gob. V. Dennis M. Socrates ay inaasahang magiging daan ito upang matamo ang tunay na kapayapaan tungo sa kaunlaran ng lalawigan,” said the PIO.
The assistance is also pursuant to Provincial Ordinance No. 1540 series of 2015 or the ”Establishing the Implementing Guidelines on the Provision of Assistance to Rebel Returnees.”
