The Palawan Sangguniang Panlalawigan has asked Governor Dennis Socrates to form a composite team that will conduct a study on how to address flooding in the province.

The SP passed Resolution No. 682-23 or “A resolution earnestly urging the Hon. Governor V. Dennis M. Socrates to create a Composite Team through an Executive Order that shall conduct comprehensive assessment, evaluation and study of water system network on how to address flooding incidents by giving emphasis on strategies and mechanisms to unclog rivers, streams, esteros, creeks and other similar natural water ways in the Province of Palawan, to be spearheaded by PDRRMO”

The said measure was authored by Board Member Rafael V. Ortega, Jr.

Ortega said that the composite team is needed to solve flooding issues m, especially in Brooke’s Point and Sofronio Espanola.

Meanwhile the SP also passed Resolution No. 669-23 entitled: “A resolution favorably endorsing and interposing no objection to the immediate conduct of desilting and dredging activities of rivers, canals and waterways in the municipality of Brooke’s Point and Sofronio Española”
