Palawan SP asks DTI for price freeze in southern towns

The Palawan Sangguniang Panlalawigan has asked the Department of Trade and Industry to implement a price freeze on basic goods in southern towns of the province.

The request came after a low pressure area pummeled these towns earlier this year.

The SP approved Resolution No. 637-23 titled: A resolution earnestly requesting Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to implement price freeze on basic necessities, prime and essential commodities including agricultural inputs and fishery supplies and materials in the southern towns in the Province of Palawan in view of the widespread flood.

Board Member Ariston D. Arzaga authored the said resolution.

“Pangunahing layunin ng resolusyon na matulungan ang mga apektadong mamamayan na di na madagdagan pa ang kanilang mga gastusin sa pang araw-araw na pangangailangan gaya ng pagkain gayundin upang mas maging mabilis ang rehabilitasyon at pagsasaayos ng kani-kanilang mga sakahan at pangkabuhayan,” said the PIO.

“Samantala, maliban dito ay pinaiigting din ng naturang resolusyon ang mahigpit na monitoring sa presyo ng mga nasabing produkto partikular sa mga munisipyong apektado ng kalamidad,” it added.
