Albay wins big at 11th Salud Bikolnon Awards

The Province of Albay has bagged its first Green Achievers Award on top of 21 other health awards, besting the other six provinces of the Bicol Region during recently concluded the 11th Salud Bikolnon Awards.

The theme “Pagkaburunyog para sa Salud nin Kagabsan” gathered all local health implementers who exemplified dedication and excellence in the planning and execution of health services towards Universal Health Care in the region.

Albay received the following recognitions:

1. Top Performing Province for Population Tuberculosis (TB) Testing Rate (with prize of 100,000 pesos);

2. Top Performing Province for Deworming (Mass Drug Administration) (with prize of 100,000 pesos);

3. Chikiting Ligtas Award (Top Performing Province during the MR-Td Campaign and Chikiting Ligtas Bakunation Days) (with prize of 100,000 pesos);

Recipients of the Green Achiever Awards are LGUs with the most achievements in the 2022 national objectives for Health.

For the first time, Albay was recognized for the Province Category and was awarded with the plaque that came with a Php 200,000 cash prize.

Governor Edcel Grex Lagman expressed his gratitude to the DOH Bicol CHD, the Salud Bikolnon Committee, and to Albay’s stakeholders, as well as the rank-and-file of the Albay Provincial Health Office.

He also recognized the the municipal and city rural health units, the district hospitals, the doctors of the Albay Medical Society and all the health stakeholders of the province which constitute the highest number of health professionals in the Bicol Region

The Salud Bikolnon Awards is the most prestigious and longest running awards conducted by the Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development.
