Lagman urges ALECO consumers to pay unsettled bills

POLITIKO - The bible of Philippine Politics.
Albay Governor Edcel “Grex” Lagman urged consumers of Albay Electric Cooperative (ALECO) to also pay their unpaid bills to help the power distributor sustain its operations.
“We should help ALECO jumpstart its 100% management of our electricity needs,” said Lagman.
“We must also have the moral ascendancy to demand from members-consumers and/or consumers of ALECO to pay their electricity arrears and current bills. We can only have this KUN KITA MISMO TATAO MAG-BAYAD KAN UTANG TA,” he added.
Lagman’s call came after the Provincial Government of Albay (PGA) paid its arrears to ALECO amounting to P1.6 million.
“I hope this will inspire other LGUs in Albay to pay its electricity arrears as well asap. Thank you, LGU-Tabaco City for paying its 3.9M electricity arrears yesterday to ALECO. I am sure other LGUs will follow suit,” said the governor.
“It feels good to lead by example. It feels good to pay our debts. It gives us a good sense what financial freedom is and how it feels,” he added.
