Atty. Robredo spends some time with Pinoys in US
Former Vice President Atty. Leni Robredo has shared some snippets of her life as of late in the United States.
Robredo, who is completing her teaching stint at Harvard University, said that she has been spending time with Filipinos in US.
“I seriously have a huge backlog of pictures to post. It has been really hectic. But lately, in between speaking engagements, I have been spending time with Filipinos here who have become dear friends,” said Robredo. Most of them have so generously been taking care of us and we are beyond grateful,” she added.
She also shared that last month, the Center of Public Leadership treated her to lunch at the posh Harvard Faculty Club by the Harvard Yard.
“Food was so good and we learned that the Executive Chef, Butch Abaquin, is a Filipino. He had several other Filipinos in the team – Chef Elmo is the dessert and pastry chef, and Satrick is the Director of Special Events,” said Robredo.
“Last night, Chefs Butch and Chef Elmo cooked for us at Jojo and Myrish Antonio’s house. It was a real treat from our best chefs we are all very proud of. Satrick and wife, Cathy, arrived later after bringing Filipino friends to the airport,” she added.
“Jojo and Myrish are the guardian angels of all the Filipinos here. Their house in Allston is everyone’s tambayan and safe place. Our kids, except Jillian who was in New York, had a great bonding break despite the fact that Tricia, Miggy and Marcky are in the middle of Finals week,” she continued.
