Albay Gov. Grex Lagman was happy to welcome officials of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao to his province and said he is their kindred spirit.

In a Facebook post, Lagman said the officials came to Albay for a study tour to learn from its nationally-awarded experience on disaster resilience and to get inputs on the most efficient way to utilize their funds.

He thanked the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations FAO – UN for endorsing the BARMM officials to Albay.

He said he feels an affinity for Muslims because of his Arab heritage, courtesy of his great grandfather Felipe Almojuela who was Catanduanes’ first governor.

They can consider him a brother!
