Panaligan meets woth AFP chief Bacarro

Oriental Mindoro Rep. Arnan C. Panaligan had the chance to meet with the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Lt. General Bartolome Bacarro.

Bacarro visited the House of Representatives to attend the hearing of the Committee on National Defense and Security.

The lawmaker also met with the new Flag Officer in Command of the Philippine Navy, Rear Admiral Toribio Adaci, Jr.

Panaligan said that as Chief of the Navy, he will hold the rank of Vice Admiral, a three star rank equivalent to Lt. General in the Army and Air Force.

“After the hearing of the Committee on National Defense at the House of Representatives, Admiral Adaci and I had a brief but fruitful conversation about the assets recently acquired and soon to be acquired by the Philippine Navy such as the frigates, corvettes, offshore patrol vessels, fast attack interdiction crafts and landing platform docks,” he shared.

“We both agreed that if the planned assets are acquired with the proper weapons systems, the Philippine Navy will be at par with the navies of its regional neighbors,” he continued.
