Palawan Board Member Ryan Maminta had a lot of fun serving as mystery reader at the Antipuluan Elementary School, his alma mater.

In a Facebook post, Maminta said he was invited to be the reader in connection with the celebration of National Reading Month.

He underscored the importance of reading, citing the words of former US President Barack Obama who said, “Reading is the gateway skill that makes all other learning possible, from complex word problems and the meaning of our history to scientific discovery and technological proficiency.”

The Palawan politiko said his dream is for every Filipino to be a good reader of Filipino and English works.

People should help achieve this goal, he added.

Time to grab a book!

“MYSTERY READER’

It’s an honor to join the teachers and students of Antipuluan Elementary School – my alma mater, in their Monday flag-raising ceremony and be the “mystery reader’, in celebration of National Reading Month.

Reading is a very important skill in our advancement. As former US President Barack Obama fittingly puts it: ‘reading is the gateway skill that makes all other learning possible, from complex word problems and the meaning of our history to scientific discovery and technological proficiency.”

Pangarap ko ay bawat batang Palaweño at Filipino ay maging marunong at mahusay magbasa sa ating sariling wika at sa wikang Ingles. Tulungan natin sila upang makamit ito!

Maraming-maraming salamat po, AES sa imbitasyon lalo sa school reading coordinator po ng paaralan, Ma’am Elizabeth Nolasco Maminta!” Maminta posted.
