Legazpi City village chiefs back Rosal amid disqualification case
Fifty-five barangay captains of Legazpi City have thrown their full support behind embattled Albay Gov. Noel E. Rosal on Tuesday, camping inside Albay Capitol.
Hundreds of supporters of Rosal showed up as they wait for the Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) from the Supreme Court to prevent the COMELEC from proceeding with its writ of execution to unseat the Governor.
But the high court has yet to issue a TRO.
The Albayano supporters showed their overwhelming support to the Governor while waiting for the return of Rosal who went to Manila to attend important matters.
The supporters donned red shirts to symbolize protest as they rallied against the decision of the COMELEC En Banc which affirmed the decision of its First Division disqualifying Rosal.
They simultaneously conducted prayer vigil, lighted up candles and rang the Liberty Bell.
Before being elected as Governor, Rosal served as Legazpi City mayor.
