More than 3,690 Community Volunteer Health Workers (CVHW) from different municipalities in Palawan gathered for the 9th Community Volunteer Health Workers Convention in Puerto Princesa City.
The event had the theme: “CHVW: Kabalikat sa Kalusugan ng Sambayanang Palaweño sa Panahon ng Pandemya.”
Provincial Health Office, led by Provincial Health Officer Dra. Faye Erika Q. Labrador and Community Volunteer Health Workers Unit Head Jenevil V. Tombaga, spearheaded the activity.
Also present were Board Member Marivic H. Roxas who is the Chairperson ng Committee on Health of Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Board Member Ryan D. Maminta, Board Member Ariston D. Arzaga, Board Member Al-Nashier M. Ibba, Board Member Winston G. Arzaga, and Ex-Officio Member Purita J. Seguritan.
Also in attendance was Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Program- Community Enhancement and Livelihood Program (PADAP-CELP) Executive Director Eduardo Modesto V. Rodriguez.
CVHW Unit Head Jenevil V. Tombaga, in her speech, highlighted the importance of the event.
“Layunin po nito ay unang-una, para mai-promote po natin yung unity, dahil alam po natin ang ating mga volunteer health workers, sila po yung ating mga sundalo ng kalusugan sa kani-kanilang mga barangay,” said Tombaga.
“Pangalawa, napaka-importante ng pagtitipong ito para mabigyan sila ng updates patungkol po sa kung ano na ba yung health status natin dito sa probinsya at mai-reiterate sa kanila ano nga ba yung role ng ating mga volunteers sa kani-kanilang mga barangay,” the official added.
