Concerned about Pinoy artists? Then reopen ABS-CBN, Tinambac Councilor Jonas Soltes tells Jinggoy

Instead of banning Korean shows, there is something that Sen. Jinggoy Estrada can do if he really wants to help Filipino artists, according to Tinambac Councilor Jonas Soltes.

In a Facebook post, Soltes said Estrada could start with working to bring back the franchise of ABS-CBN if he is deeply concerned about the plight of Philippine entertainers.

ABS-CBN, which employs thousands of employees and produces numerous entertainment shows, is gone from free TV after Congress rejected its bid to renew its franchise.

Estrada earlier said that since many Filipinos are patronizing Korean telenovelas, Filipino artists are losing jobs and income. Because of this, he is considering proposing a ban on the Korean shows.

“If Senator Jinggoy Estrada is deeply concerned about the plight of Philippine entertainers/ actors/ artists, he can start with pushing to bring back the license of ABS-CBN,” Soltes posted.
