Gov. Gadiano kicks off Tamaraw Month Celebration 2022
Occidental Mindoro Governor Ed Gadiano has spearheaded official start of the Tamaraw Month Celebration 2022.
This year, the celebration carries the theme: ‘Tamaraw na Tinatangi, Pamana ng Lahi’’
Gadiano, together with the Environment and Natural Resources Office, led a motorcade to show importance and support to the tamaraw conservation.
Tamaraws are now considered as “critically endangered species.”
“Tinatayang nasa 600 tamaraw na lamang ang nananataling buhay sa ating probinsya kaya’t patuloy na isusulong ng ating Kapitolyo ang pag-iingat sa mga ito upang hindi matuloy ang napipintong pagkawala o pagkaubos ng uri nito sa bansa,” the governor’s office said.
The event was also attended by Vice Gov. Diana Tayag as well as SP Members Kendi Villaroza, Ryan Sioson, Eddie Masangkay, Coco Mendiola, ENR Officer Ireneo Cortuna, PENR Officer Ernesto Tañada and DILG MIMAROPA Regional – Director Karl Caesa Rimando.
