Palawan gov’t says relief goods ready for any calamity

The Palawan provincial government assured Palaweños that relief goods are already prepositioned just in case a calamity or any emergency occurs.

“Tiniyak ni Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Abigail D. Ablaña na may nakahandang relief goods o family food packs (FFPs) ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan na maaaring agarang ipagkaloob sa mga posibleng maapektuhan ng bagyo o anumang kalamidad sa lalawigan,” the Palawan Provincial Information Office said.

“Aniya, sa ngayon ay nasa 18,000 FFPs ang naka-standby sa Command Center ng Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Headquarters sa Bgy. Irawan, lungsod ng Puerto Princesa kabilang na rito ang mga nakatakdang i-preposition partikular sa mga island municipalities,” it added.

Palawan province was spared by the recent Typhoon Karding but other parts of Luzon were pummeled by the weather disturbance.

“Sa patnubay ng ating gobernador, Gov. Dennis M. Socrates, tayo ay may readily available na 18,000 family food packs (FFPs), kasama dapat dito yung mga ipi-preposition natin,” Ablaña.

“Actually we are just waiting dun sa mga MOU galing sa mga munisipyo at ang authority to enter into MOA or MOU kaya nga’t anytime, ito ay puwede na rin pong maipadala sa kanila once na mai-submit na nila lahat ng requirements sa atin,” added Ablaña.
