DOH rolls out PinasLakas campaign in Masbate

The Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development (DOH Bicol CHD) recently launched the PinasLakas COVID-19 vaccination campaign at the Masbate National Comprehensive High School (MNCHS).

A total of 300 students, parents, and teaching and non-teaching staff were vaccinated during the on-site COVID-19 vaccination.

The activity was led by vaccination teams from the Masbate City Health Office (CHO), Provincial DOH Office (PDO) Masbate, and UNICEF represented by the Relief International.

Present during the activity were representatives from the City Government of Masbate, the Department of Interior and Local Government, Philippine Information Agency Masbate, and the Masbate City Schools Division Office.

Mr. Andrei Diez, the City Human Resource and Management Officer and representative of Masbate City Mayor Socrates Tuason, affirmed the commitment of the City Government of Masbate to COVID-19 vaccination efforts and COVID-19 response.

Diez also urged the participants to continue wearing masks amid the recent easing of mask requirement in outdoor settings.

“Please continue to wear mask. Teachers, please require our students and the children to wear masks. This will not cause the children any harm, but rather this is for their safety and for the good of the City of Masbate. The pandemic is not yet over,” Diez said in Minasbate.

The PinasLakas regional launch was held as the MNCHS is preparing for the full implementation of face-to-face classes in November this year.

Based on the school’s report, 4,923 Grade 7 to 12 students are already fully vaccinated as of August 11 while 195 have received their booster shots.
