UNDP, partners pay courtesy call to Albay Gov. Rosal
Representatives of the United Nations Development Programs (UNDP) and its partners have paid a courtesy visit to Albay Governor Noel Rosal.
The Team that transformed vulnerable communities into disaster-resilient localities extended their support to the Provincial Government of Albay with regard to the Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) programs.
Deputy resident representative Edwin Carrie of the UNDP told the Governor that their group would like to evaluate the existing structures of the DRRM programs of Albay.
Mr. Carrie said they would also look into the financial capacity of the Province in order to help in developing proactive engagements and strengthen the partnership.
He said that the UNDP, along with the consortium partners and the Department of Interior and Local Government, would support upgrading the resilience project of the province.
“The Governor is presently prioritizing the expansion of disaster management programs provincewide as he believes that DRRM plays a vital role in preserving the lives of the Albayanos as well as pursuing economic growth,” Rosal’s office said.
