The Province of Palawan remains free from African Swine Fever (ASF), Avian Infuenza (Bird Flu), and Foot and Mouth Disease, Dr. Darius P. Mangcucang, Officer-in-Charge of the Provincial Veterinary Office, confirmed.

Mangcucang said that the Provincial Government, led by Governor V. Dennis Socrates, Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), Department of Agriculture (DA), Barangay Biosecurity Officers (BBO) and Barangay Veterinarians are implementing strict measures to prevent the entry of these diseases.

The PVO also regularly conducts blood testing activities in slaughterhouses to ensure that no contaminated pigs have entered the province.

The authorities are also monitoring the entry points in the province, such as Balabac, Buliluyan sa Bataraza, Coron, Busuanga, San Vicente, Cuyo and Puerto Princesa.
