Palawan SP OKs measure seeking to form ‘tourism packages’ for Cuyo, Magsaysay
The Palawan Sangguniang Panlalawigan has passed a resolution seeking to form joint tourism packages for Cuyo and Magsaysay towns.
The council approved on final reading the measure asking the Provincial Tourism Promotions and Development Office (PTPDO) to assist the local governments of Cuyo and Magsaysay in terms of promotion and marketing of the islands’ cultural, historical, and ecological tourism destinations.
The Resolution No. 281-22 is entitled: “Requesting the Provincial Tourism Promotions and Development Office to assist the municipalities of Cuyo and Magsaysay for the development of possible joint tourism packages to facilitate the promotion and marketing of the island of Cuyo as a cultural, historical and ecological tourism destination in Palawan.”
The said measure was authored by Board Member Maria Angela V. Sabando.
“Maraming destinasyon na ngayon sa Cuyo at Magsaysay kaya lang hindi alam ng mga turista kung saan sila pupunta kaya nagresearch ako kung anu-ano itong mga tourist destination sa Cuyo at Magsaysay na pwedeng puntahan,” Sabando said.
She said that Cuyo and Magsaysay just need proper promotion since these islands have “complete package” tourist destinations.
“Kung tutuusin halos kumpleto ang package ng Cuyo at Magsaysay, kailangan lang matulungan ang dalawang LGU kung papaano madevelop ‘yong package tour plan sa tulong ng Provincial Tourism Office para yong mga pupunta doong mga local and foreign tourists ay mag-suit doon sa interes nila kung anong package tour ang pwede nilang i-avail doon sa Island of Cuyo,” she said.
