DSWD educational aid must come with conditions, says Tinambac Councilor Jonas Soltes
Tinambac Councilor Jonas Soltes does not think the Department of Social Welfare and Development should be giving away educational assistance unconditionally.
In a Facebook post, Soltes said he was fine with the DSWD distributing cash for people’s school needs.
But he said this form of assistance should come with conditions.
For instance, it could only be given to students whose parents have been vaccinated against COVID-19 or have received a booster shot, or those who could present receipts for the purchase of school supplies or uniforms, he said.
This would help improve the vaccination drive and boost sales of school essentials, he said.
He also said cash assistance would not be an instrument of change if it would be given without any conditions.
