DAR distributes land titles, equipment to Palaweño farmers


The Department of Agrarian Reform’s (DAR) has recently distributed certificates of land ownership award covering an aggregate area of 215.5 hectares and various farm machinery to Palaweño farmers.

The agricultural lands were from the towns of Aborlan, Bataraza, El Nido, Brooke’s Point, Narra, Sofronio Española, Quezon, Roxas and Taytay.

While the farm machinery and equipment include a hauling truck, a 35-HP 4-wheel drive truck, multipurpose-seeder with fertilizer applicator and six units of hand tractor with implements.

DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III said that under this administration, the President would ensure that the welfare of the farmers would be taken care of.

“Hang in there. We will provide you with more lands and necessary support to help you improve your economic lives” Estrella said.

The DAR chief also revealed that with the help of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and other lawmakers, they would pass a bill that would make the distributed lands be given for free.

Meanwhile, DAR Support Services Office Undersecretary Milagros Isabel Cristobal said that aside from farm machines, the department would continue to provide infrastructure facilities and other interventions to make their farm become more productive.

The farm machinery and equipment were provided under the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project, Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty Program and ARBOLD Project.
