Catanduanes is proud of its talented writer.

Catanduanes Vice Gov. Boss Te Cua honored Emmanuel Barrameda after the latter’s work was named the Best Book of Nonfiction Prose during the 39th National Book Awards.

His book is titled “Balager” and consists of essays.

Last year, Barrameda’s work “P’wera Bisita,” a collection of short stories, was named Best Book of Short Fiction in Filipino.

Cua said the provincial council recognizes Barrameda’s immense contribution to Catandungan literature.

Barrameda also serves as inspiration to the province’s writers, he said.

Catanduanes is proud to call him its own!
