Rosal meets with SP members to discuss new quarry rates

Albay Governor Noel Rosal has recently called for a meeting with the members of Sangguniang Panlalawigan to discuss the existing quarry rates.

Rosal has called for an Executive-Legislative Meeting on Tuesday to tackle the new pricing on gravel and sand provided in the existing quarry Ordinance of Albay to ensure consistency in the new valuation based on existing economic indicators.

“Quarry has been the prevailing issue in Albay since the new administration assumed office and the Governor has been in the lead in providing solutions to the prevailing quarry issues,” the governor’s office said.

Rosal discussed with Vice Gov. Edcel “Grex” Lagman and the Board Members the proposed amendments to the Ordinance.

To widely solicit proposals from the concerned stakeholders, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Albay (SPA) will call a public hearing on August 5 at 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon at the SPA Session Hall, Albay Capitol, the public information office said.

Rosal earlier suspended temporarily the quarrying operations in Albay after he was sworn into office.
