Rosal bats for nurses’ pay hike


Albay Gov. Noel Rosal is pushing for the salary increase of frontline medical workers such as nurses, nurse attendants and midwives who are on job order status.

Rosal eyes these workers to be promoted as casual workers of the Provincial Government in order to receive a higher base pay.

In a meeting with hospital chiefs in held Monday, Rosal announced that starting September this year, nurses will receive P15,400.00 monthly wages and P13,002.00 for midwives and nurse attendants.

He also mentioned this during the inaugural session of the 14th Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Albayd his plan to hire additional medical personnel.

Rosal has been pidgin to improve Albay’s health care as the province bats for inclusion in the Universal Health Care Program of the Department of Health.
