Camarines Norte Rep. Josie Tallado has filed a measure seeking to provide fixed salaries and other benefits to barangay officials.

Ahead of the official start of Congressional session, the solon filed House Bill No. 1114 or An Act Providing for Fixed Salaries of Barangay Official and such other Benefits being Recieved by Regular Government Employees.”

Tallado highlighted the important role the barangay officials play in the society, especially during the pandemic.

She also said that a barangay captain only earns at least P11,000 while barangay kagawads take home at least P8,000 per month.
