Tricia Robredo pens heartfelt thank you note to security detail
With Vice President Leni Robredo’s term coming to an end, her daughter Tricia bid her security detail farewell and expressed her appreciation for all that they did for her and her family.
In a Facebook post, Tricia disclosed that they were initially not too happy with getting a security detail and having them join them whenever they go out.
She even tried to hide from them, she said.
But she eventually learned to adjust to them over time until they became like extended family to her.
She has a lot of fond memories with her security staff, who gave her advice on what bag to buy, told her to fix her hair before going onstage, kept watch over her during a date, and joined her in climbing a mountain and going jogging.
They also saw her during emotional moments and were there during the milestones in her life, such as her last hospital duty as an intern and her first assignment as a doctor.
They even delivered oxygen tanks for patients when no ambulances were available.
Tricia said doing things on their own again would be liberating, but she also feels separation anxiety as she would miss her “Ates and Kuyas.”
She is grateful to them for everything they have done and will always consider them family and pray for their safety.
She’d love it if they would come to visit, she added.
“Couldn’t let this day pass without an appreciation post for our real plus ones.
Tbh we weren’t too happy about getting security and having them join us whenever we’re out. Ilang beses ko pa atang sinubukan na takasan kung sinong nakaduty sa akin nung umpisa. But after much bargaining and character development lol, nasanay at nakapag adjust din over time until we became each other’s extended family.
I have many fond memories with the vpsd. Noong naghahanap ako ng school bag, biniro ako ni Kuya Arnie na piliin ko yung matingkad na orange para mabilis nila akong makita. Right before I went on stage for a youth event, Kuya Marvin pointed at my side bangs kasi ang gulo raw ng buhok ko. When I was out on a date, sabi ni Kuya Jackson na i-update ko nalang siya kung saan ako pupunta. Pero nakita ko namang nagtatago from a fair distance. When we were trying to drive again, halos di bitawan ni Kuya Toni yung handbreak.
Kapag mag-aaya ang mga kaibigan umakyat ng bundok, invited din sila. Kapag tatakbo ako, makiki fun run din kahit walang warmup.
They saw me cram before long exams, cry over bad test scores and celebrate my coating ceremony. Sinundo nila ako from my last hospital duty as an intern at hinatid sa first ever raket as a doctor. Noong nagkakaubusan ng ambulansya, sila pa yung nagkusang maghatid ng oxygen tanks sa mga pasyente namin.
Doing things on our own again is definitely going to feel liberating but separation anxiety is real.
I can’t explain how much I’m going to miss our Ates and Kuyas. So here’s a screencap of a photo update of me crying in the middle of spin class kasi di pa ako tapos mag-emote lol? Kaiyak songs ni The Weeknd?
Thank you for everything, vpsd. You will always be family and we will always pray for your safety. Mahal namin kayo. Bisita kayo pls.
