Albay Rep. Cabredo, next DPWH chief discuss priority projects

Albay Rep. Fernando “Didi” Cabredo has held a meeting with incoming DPWH Secretary Manny Bonoan.

The two officials discussed the some priority projects for the 3rd District of Albay, which include:

1. Completion of the Albay-Camsur Diversion Road;
2. Upgrading/Road Widening of Ligao-Pioduran Road; and,
3. Road Widening of Maharlika Highway.

“I explained to him the importance of these roads in accelerating development in the 3rd District of Albay,” said Cabredo.

The Albay-Camsur Diversion is seen provide alternate route to motorist and reduce traffic congestions in Maharlika Highway, and Ligao-Pioduran Road which connects province of Albay via Ligao City to the RORO Port of Pioduran, which also provides linkages to Masbate Province and the Visayas and Mindanao Regions.

“Furthermore, I mentioned to him the tourism potentials of the pristine beaches in the Albay West Coast and the minimal effects of climate change in the area as it is free from flooding and away from the dangers of Mayon Volcano,” said the solon.

“I further added that developing the road network will create opportunities for development in the area,” he added.

“I was glad to be informed by the good incoming DPWH Secretary that he was instructed by President Bongbong Marcos, Jr. to consider all projects started in the previous years that remain unfinished as among the priorities by his administration and also those that will significantly contribute to the development of the country,” he continued.
