Naga City Councilor Oying Rosales pays tribute to kagawad who started his political journey
Naga City Councilor Oying Rosales has paid tribute to the late barangay official who started him on the path toward public service.
In a Facebook post, Rosales bid farewell to Gima Ramos, a former barangay kagawad who urged him to run as barangay official in 2013.
In a Facebook post, Rosales recalled that shortly after graduating from college, he came across Ramos who while walking to the jeepney stop.
Ramos told her there were still not enough candidates running for barangay positions, and urged him to run.
He later ran for a seat in the barangay council.
This started him on the path to public service, he said.
He thanked Ramos for serving the community and for being there for the family.
She will be missed!
“One summer day in 2013, shortly after graduating from college, while walking to the jeepney stop for my commute, I happened to cross paths with a familiar figure in our neighborhood. She said,
That brief encounter, with then-Brgy. Kgd. Gima Ramos, led me to my first barangay exposure where, a few months thereafter, I would join the race for a seat in the barangay council and eventually enter the life of public service.
Farewell, Tiya Gima.
