BM Arevalo says outgoing VP Leni stepped up in serving the country

Masbate Senior Provincial Board Member Jason Arevalo said that Vice President Leni Robredo will bow out from politics knowing that she stepped up and delivered as a public servant.

“In a few weeks, Leni Robredo will step down as Vice President of the Republic. But she will leave having stepped up servant-leadership in a system that smacks of patronage, mediocrity, parochialism and self-preservation,” said Arevalo.

“For well-meaning Filipinos, they will have to wait for another chance at good governance or until another Leni Robredo inspires the hopes of a people and a nation,” he added.

The Congress, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers, officially proclaimed Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. as the next Philippine president.

Marcos earned 31,629,783 votes while Robredo only got 15,035,773 votes.

“Thank you so much, Atty. Leni Robredo. We will remember you, from the obscure widow of an illustrious, accomplished and well-loved Mayor of Naga City to the Vice President this Nation rightly deserved,” he said.
