DOH logs 9 COVID-19 cases in Bicol from May 8-14


The Department of Health has logged nine new COVID-18 cases in Bicol from May 8 to 14, pushing the region’s total caseload to 59,100.

Active cases during the period rose to 434 or .73% of the total cases.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

ALBAY: 2 (22.22%)
2 – Daraga

CAMARINES SUR: 4 (44.44%)
1 – Iriga City
1 – Lagonoy
1 – Naga City
1 – Pili

CATANDUANES: 1 (11.11%)
1 – Virac

SORSOGON: 2 (22.22%)
1 – Bulan
1 – Sorsogon City

Meanwhile, the DOH also reported that 7 individuals recuperated from the disease, to bring the total number of recoveries to 56,101.

Death toll rose to 2,565 after two more fatalities were recorded during the period.

The department said that the report does not reflect the actual date of deaths, but they are based on validated reports with death certificates.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the Health department said.
