Albay elects new governor

Legazpi City Mayor Noel Rosal has been elected as the new governor of Albay, beating the incumbent Governor Al Francis Bichara.
Bichara lost to Rosal by more than 230,000 votes. Official results showed that Rosal received 469,481 votes while Bichara garnered 238,746 votes.
Rosal has already been proclaimed as the winner of the gubernatorial race.
Bichara has been in public service since 1986, while Rosal has served Legazpi for 18 years.
Incumbent Vice Governor Edcel “Grex” Lagman, meanwhile, has been reelected in office after winning in all 25 local government units of the province.
Rosal’s wife Geraldine beat Ako Bicol Rep. Alfredo Garbin for the Legazpi City mayoralty race.
