Brooke’s Point vice mayoralty bet Maryjean Feliciano is worried for the town’s natural resources

POLITIKO - The bible of Philippine Politics.
Suspended Brooke’s Point Mayor Maryjean Feliciano, who is now running for Vice Mayor, could not help but marvel at the beauty of the town’s natural resources while campaigning.
But Feliciano’s joy over the wonders of Brooke’s Point is tempered by her concern that these could be exploited.
Feliciano, who was suspended for battling a mining firm, said Brooke’s Point is the food and fruit basket of Palawan, but it is in danger of becoming a mining capital.
Four mining firms are waiting for the results of the May elections, she said in a Facebook post.
She called on the people of the town to pray for the victory of candidates who would protect the environment and the natural resources of Brooke’s Point.
She also hopes voters won’t be blinded by the money that the candidates backed by mining companies might offer them.
Nature is at stake!
