Gov. Bicara leads Women’s Day Forum in Albay
Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara served as the guest of honor during the Women’s Day Forum held at the Albay Astrodome.
Around 800 females in purple-clad t-shirts attended the event on March 21. They are part of the Albay Solo Parent’s Federation, Albay KALIPI Federation, and PIDO-DIDAY Women Empowerment.
Bichara in his short speech emphasized how women must be treated equally.
“Most department heads from our office are women. They are treated and looked upon and respected by many. Those things mean that women are equal to what others can do. They can do what most of us men can,” Bichara said.
Bichara als led the oath-taking ceremony of the new set of officers of the different women associations.
Board Member Hon. Glenda Ong-Bonga, meanwhile, said: “We aim for equality and empowerment. Being empowered doesn’t mean being dominant. Being empowered means you have a voice that needs to be heard.”
