Oriental Mindoro Gov. Bonz Dolor hits rival for using scholarship distribution to campaign
Oriental Mindoro Gov. Bonz Dolor is not happy with how his rival for the gubernatorial post has used the distribution of scholars’ allowances to campaign.
In a Facebook post, Dolor shared that he received a complaint from parents that their children, who are government scholars, were kept for hours at the St. Antony College when they went to get their P2,000 allowance.
Dolor said thousands of students were made to go to the area to listen for hours to messages badmouthing other candidates.
He said he was saddened that students were made to listen and wait for so long when the allowance they were supposed to get come from public funds.
Parents had reported to him that their children grew hungry as they waited hours for their money, and some even got wet in the rain.
He shared some photos of the event as well as one of the messages he received.
Children should be spared from being used in politics!
